Tom Gabel - Heart Burns (2008)

Tom Gabel (born November 8, 1980) is a vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist for Gainesville, Florida punk rock band Against Me!, as well as a solo artist. He was born at the U.S. Army School of the Americas in Fort Benning, Georgia, where his father was stationed.[1] At age 17, he dropped out of high school and formed Against Me! as a solo act in Naples, Florida. The act has since become a quartet, and have released four full-length albums.

Gabel's solo debut, entitled Heart Burns, was released October 28, 2008 on Sire Records.

Personal Life

On August 13, 2007, Gabel was arrested in Tallahassee, Florida on a charge of battery after allegedly smashing a man's head against the counter of All Saints Cafe, a coffee shop. Gabel reportedly tore down an article about Against Me! that was defaced to mock the band, leading to an argument with a patron named Jared Smith. Witnesses reported that Gabel knocked a cup out of Smith's hand. According to Smith, Gabel then forced his head into the wooden counter. Gabel admitted to knocking the cup out of Smith's hand but denied hitting him. He was arrested after the band's performance that night at The Beta Bar and released on $500 bail.[2]
Gabel is married to artist Heather Gabel (n?e Hannoura). who has designed merchandise for bands including My Chemical Romance, Alkaline Trio, AFI, and The Lawrence Arms.
