Start Of the New Revolution was born November 22, 2007. I always wanted to spread and share music that I enjoyed or influenced me, and wished to share that with everyone.
When I was 8-12, you would never see me without my cassette player. I would always being making mix tapes for myself from my parents cds. First of the Eagles, the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones to name a few. From 13-my late teens, you would always see me carrying a disc man wherever I went. Ear phones always on.
I used to host a local radio show on WDGC 88.3 FM, Downers Grove, for two hours once a week when I was in high school. The first hour I would play mostly punk rock, and ska, and take whatever little phone calls I received for requests. I featured a local band every week, and would usually devote the second hour to the band's music and do an interview in between songs. I also gave concert updates, both major and local. However, I've been out of Radio and the local music scene for far too long. I own many cds, and even though cds are becoming a remnant of the past, I still buy them. They prove handy when your hard drive crashes and you lose all your music. With my associates almost done, I plan on getting my bachelors in Radio. I do this scared, and unsure of what my future will hold. I think I might go into broadcast journalism, because rock radio seems like it might be on the out and out. However, internet radio, and podcasts, and the thousands of sites like this, and xm radio are the future of music.
